Today I got my vonage voip service setup today. For those not familar with voip, its voice over internet protocol. Vonage offers unlimited minutes/long distance on their phone lines. You can call anywhere in the US/Canada for free, anywhere in the world ranges from 2-5c a minute, pretty reasonable. So I bought the Linksys PAP2 (http://www.linksys.com/products/product.asp?grid=33&prid=651), plugged it into my switch, opened the proper udp ports on my router, then activated my account on vonage.com. It was activated almost instantly, and I got a dialtone. So in under 5 minutes I had it all setup. Ive been making a bunch of calls on it so far today, and its CRYSTAL clear, better than a land line for sure. They include tons of features for free that most phone companies charge you for, like caller id, call waiting, 3 way calling, call forwarding, voicemail, etc. So if anyone is interested in saving some money in phone bills, its great for businesses.
